mneme
A nostalgic and desolate picture painted in a few words, mneme. I hope you achieve some peace and sleep soon.

thanks for understanding and for your thoughts - there's so much more to it than just the surface of course. I hope I can get home again soon and sort this all out properly - then I'll sleep better.

Thanks Tony - it has been a bit tiresome, not sleeping, but I catch up during the day. Hoping for some kind of resolution before too long.

Thanks for the thought - as it happens, I did sleep better last night (I wrote this at 4:30 am yesterday so I was extra-tired by bedtime).

mneme...out of so much pain comes so much beauty...I know exactly where
you are ...exactly how you feel...not a good place now but one day you WILL smile again and sleep the sleep of one who is peace filled and serene. in the meantime you are in my thoughts and prayers...
This is truly one of your best poems! Welcome back...you have been missed!

Hey guys - got to go for a while but I'll try to be back in an hour or so - hard to stay away from this place but people want feeding.

Mneme - great poem making somethng out of the frustration of insomnia.
Some telling touches, like the different kind of bird, etc. How are things - well, it says here, doesn't it? Best wishes from me - nice to see you again. Thanks for reading my oldies!

I love your reflections but, as Shakespeare said, it is sleep that knits the reveled sleeve of care. If you don't get some, you are going to be mighty frazzled. I wish I could sing you a lullaby.

Thank you; now, after that sleepless night, I can't keep my eyes open so I'll have to try to come back later to continue reading and commenting - time for my nap.
