Spiffy...I am so happy for you! Little girls are wonderful creatures...Oh and about that hurt thing well...it only lasts as long as it lasts and it seems afterwards it's hard to remember the labor hurt (at least for me it was like that)....I didn't read Temple so this is all news to me and I can't tell you how wonderful I think this is...She has to be darling if she looks like you or M...I miss the scent of babies (and I don't mean diapers..lol)

Thanks Sunny!
It does kinda suck when you can't get your own doctor for the delivery. It must be Murphy's Law that you go through all that time with your own doc but then when the baby decides to come (unless it's a planned induction or c-sec) you wind up getting some other doctor. Mine just happened to be a dick. I met him once before for one of my prenatal checkups cuz my doc was out of town and I didn't like him then, either. Figures I got him for the birth.

And now dear Spitfire...
You will find out how fast time really flies. My youngest is 26 and it still seems like yesterday that he forced himself into the world. BTW from water breakage to delivery in less than three hours, he has always been in a hurry. Cherish every moment becasue too soon the infant years will be gone, but its all fun anyway, mostly, usually, sometimes!

Hey Congrats!
I expect you'll be incredibly busy now, for oh....at least the next 5 or 6 years, then you'll just be really busy.

And don't worry, after the first 1,000 or so, those diapers almost change themselves! LOL
The doc for my first birth was not quite that bad, just indifferent. My doc for my second birth was a really nice woman. FYI, that didn't make the pain any easier.
Take LOTS of pictures...they are so adorable when they are so tiny!

Sir Strat!! Sir Strat!! Yay! I'm SOOOO glad to hear from you! Hey, you would've been proud of me. When the pain got really bad, I didn't hold back on the yelling. But, I didn't cuss. Well, k, maybe once or twice, but nothin' too bad. I should've saved the cussing up for Dr. Dick. I'd like to see him try and go through that. Yeah, I'd pay to see that.

Re: Spitfire....
LOL Gypsy!! But I'm sure I'll be hosing her off in no time. Among other things. See, my mom gave me the curse many years ago. You know the one..."You should only have a child as rotten as you someday" one. She did come from ME, so...
Mom's laughing at me from the grave, I know it!

Re: Congratulations!!!
Hey Katray!! Oh, I asked my best friend about childbirth and she said, "Don't worry. Once you get the epidural you won't feel a thing." LIES!!! ALL LIES! My friggin' epidural ran out TWICE and by the time she was coming out (when I needed it the most) I got NADDA! Zip! What a jip, man! I bet that bastard of a doctor knew it the whole time, too. I'll see him in hell.

Ahem, I mean congratulations, Young Miss. We have missed you around here, but I figured you'd catch us up sooner or later.
What is it about doctors, that old "These hands were touched by GOD HIMSELF" attitude?
I cannot imagine doing what you did. If guys had to have babies, humankind would be extinct in a month.
Good to see you back, congratulations, and I can't wait to see pics of Wee Young Miss! Take care!

Congrats!!! I'd have told you but I had all three of mine c-section so couldn't warn you. It's nice to see you on here again. Here's hoping you never have to take her out back to use the garden hose just to hose all the crap off of her. (Yes I did have to do this with my oldest son lol)

I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering if you had your baby yet. I have missed you. I am glad you have your precious daughter now and that both of you are ok. Giving birth is definitely no picnic. I am sorry you had to endure such a hard time. Take care SpitFire and I'm anxious to see pictures of your little one. Children are so very precious!!

Best wishes to you always!

Aren't babies the sweetest little miracles of life?

Sorry you had such a rough time, Spitfire; sounds familiar to this three time mama, lol. I asked alot of women about childbirth whilst pregnant with my first one; the averted eyes and sighs, change of subject should have been a clue, I guess. Afterwards, I found myself behaving the same way if asked - then I did it again..and again, lol.
Enjoy your bundle of joy; looking forward to the pictures.

Giving birth is no easy task..I should say scary and dreadful. Eventhough I am a man, I can feel it...and the anxiety...the intensity...the fear and 'all sorts of feelings' while waiting for the delivery. And scary too... my sis-in-law nearly lost her life while giving birth to a 3.9kg boy last week. Her uterus ruptured! and had a 9-pack blood transfusion.
