- Go to Haiku for Columbus Day and its status as a bank holiday
Thanks, opheliablue
I'm happy this one got a giggle out of you. I'm just sorry it took me so long to tell you so. Hopefully I'm back on a more regular basisi, although I don't know if there is any more non-poetry in my immedate future. Maybe you should start editing our collected works until the non-muse strikes me again.

Tony
That's why I often refer to Columbus Day as a bogus holiday. It doesn't look like the Vikings were first, either. There is evidence favoring much earlier discovery by Polynesians, Orientals, and possibly even early Russians. Our so-called Native Americans may actually be a mix of explorers from the Pacific side of the country rather than the Atlantic. That would tickle me to no end, since my heritage is already a hodgepodge of European and Native American (Chippewa and probably Cherokee).
