It is fun for the most part. I sometimes get aggravated when a story gets chopped up pretty bad, or cut altogether. But since they started paying for assignments, whether published or not, it's been a lot easier to take. If you haven't, you might be interested in checking out other parts of The Pilot. It's supposed to be one of the best local non-dailies in the country, and is particularly noted for its Sunday book pages and editorials. Sam Ragan, a journalistic legend in this part of the country, and long-time Poet Laureate of North Carolina, was the editor until his death some years ago.

I took time to check out The Pilot. Good going. It must be fun to have a regular gig writing about sports.
