CHANGE OF LIFE

The Bard says it quite well:  "To thine own self be true, and it must follow as night follows the day, thou cans't not be false with any man."

That's the sum of it.   Joab

i have to say i am happy with my life
i am thankful for all i have, and i look around and see so many less fortunate than i am, so to not be happy would be ungrateful for what i have.

Well there are some things I'd change...
but I consider myself fortunate compared to others. And like my granny always used to say, those who are happy are crazy...

I think change is a part of life... we're permanently changing even if we don't realize it. Sometimes it's not the other person that changes, but our perspective on life.

I believe that unhappiness doesn't come from change... but from our unacceptance of change.

Wow.. a lot to think about and I have nothing useful to say...

(I love the glittery rainbow picture though!)

disappointment is not hate ... I think we're disappointed when the other half doesn't behave the way we thought he would behave ... but in my old age I've learnt that you can never ever change a person's character, he can improve if he tries hard but change never.  I think I've also learnt to have "neutral" feelings i.e. neither love nor hate - this is just an egoistic approach of avoiding getting hurt I suppose

Not to be smart but try connecting to "MOVEON.GOD", or  have a heart attack -- either one can work wonders for the id -- the "held onto" dislikes right or wrong, become little more than stringy gristles in the mind.  Not good.  joab

I love someone but I am disappointed in him, but hate never.  I never hated my ex for what he did to me but after 23 years I am still bitter

some very interesting thoughts .... I find I'm happy with my life when I take a minute and appreciate what I've got and have gone through, but then I'm not happy if I start thinking about what I'd like to achieve .... bottom line I think it's very hard to be really happy about your life for a long time but as Jacenta said here - I'M HAPPY TO BE ALIVE! no let me correct that .... I'M VERY HAPPY TO BE ALIVE!

about the love/hate thing I think the Pretenders described it so well in their "It's a thin line between love and hate" song .....

I enjoy living and am happy to be alive.  There are things in this life I would change if I could, but I am thankful for the many blessings I have.  Family is what is important to me.
