WOW, opheliablue
A double "WOW," including a big one, on a single post!  I hardly know what to say, other than "thanks a bunch," of course.

Thanks, opheliablue
for the "Wow!"  A little "Wow!" is good for the heart every now and again, especially when you don't get very many any more.

Thanks, 7stars
I'm glad you liked my little real life adventure in pseudo haiku.

It pays to keep going.  The alternative seems to lead to early ash-spreading time.

I'm gratified by your concern, and the concern of others, about my recent plight.  And by the response to my little pseudo haiku.

I'm glad you enjoyed.  Congrats on your continued run at number one.  Run, one -- damn!  An accidental rhyme!

FineYoungSinger,
Thanks for your concern.  Fortunately the biggest loss was a lot of grass and pinestraw, though it was a little dicey with my son's boat and pickup parked out back, and the stand of pines behind that.  We almost had a full fledged forest fire.  As far as the 5-7-5 goes, I started playing with them because they seemed short and easy.  Now that I know there is supposed to be some skill involved I'll probably never be able to write another one.

Tony
You discovered my secret plot to become financially independent!  Fortunately I remembered that the insurance policy lapsed long ago and was able to save the sweatbox with a little assist from umpteen firetrucks.  It is more comfortable in the tin can in the evenings, though the days have still been hitting 90 degrees more often than not before a nice mild one today.  I'm enjoying it while I can.  Shortly the sweatbox will undergo its annual transformation to icebox.

Thanks, Troosha
Now if I can just get rid of all the smoky smell in the old sweatbox....

I envy anyone that can do the 5-7-5
And man, it just sucks about the fire.  Loss to fire is so rough.

Sure it wasn't you trying to claim on the insurance?
Glad to hear the 'sweat box' survived. Must be getting more bearable now autumn's here?

Yikes... sorry to hear about the fire.  Glad you're ok!
