Not at all, White Elephant
At least no more than I confuse myself whenever I consider writing poetry because I really am notapoet.  The confusing thing is when other people tell me it really is poetry, 'cause I truly don't understand the stuff.  One thing that does not confuse me is that you're batting a thousand (two-for-two) in the excellent comment category.

Notapoet - 10 points

Charlie Brown - NIL (well OK maybe 1 point 'coz he's cute)

I liked your non-poem even though it turned out to be a poem after all, and I wasn't prepared to read a poem from a no poet that turned out to be written by a poet who said he was notapoet ... did I confuse you?

Thanks, Tony
Considering the source, I'm very flattered.  I don't understand why my non-poetry usually draws more response than most of my other blogs.  But I sure as hell ain't complaining about it!

Thank you, Darlin'.  I hoped it might be, but I just wasn't sure.  It warms this old codger's heart to know you liked it.

Thanks, again.  Besides the non-poetry, I hope to be back into the joke retelling business again soon.

FineYoungSinger,
Thank you for your kind words.  I am non-poet enough to need others to tell me when anything longer than five lines without rhymes is close enough to be called a poem.  I do have fun playing with the words on occasion.  When it turns to work I quit, or I start to fill in the unspoken gaps to make it prose, and thus something I understand better.

I've just checked out several posts in your blog.  Even a non-poet can recognize the poetry that is your work.  It makes me happy to have made your acquaintance.
