Hi, Matie
So was I, even though I spent a couple of days just reading and, I thought, getting a feel for it before jumping in.  Many of us have tried to pass on what we've learned in On Blogging.  But for me, as well as most of the rest who have stuck around for a while, it took perseverance and the offer of a helping hand.  Ariala supplied the helping hand to me.  I've tried to pass it on to others.  That's the only way I know to make it work.

Thanks, afzal
Now if I just had time to do it the way it should be done....

You nailed the whole thing -- when it works and when it doesn't -- as well, as how to do it and why it's worthwhile even when others don't play fair.  I'm impressed.

I think there should be a more descriptive guide for new bloggers to show them how the system works, even though there's already info about how to get more readers, earnings, etc, because when I started here I was lost, LOL.

Your impulse to explore other blogs and give feedback is a good one.
And if your comment on their blog is thoughtful and interesting, there's a chance they'll check your blog and comment reciprocally...  There's also a chance they won't get it that it's just good manners to respond, they won't chat back, and unless you get something useful from their blog you'll begin to wonder what's the point and spiral down into a whirlpool of gloom. It's worth the risk.

.Dave.
Your A-Z list is another good source.  Now if we could just train all the new ones to register with you, and all the old bloggers to use the thing....

Bruce, it's true. Without new bloggers who stay, Blogit will fade and die. A timely reminder. I try to read a new one now and then, but haven't done in the last few days for sure. The carousel thingy is good for just pot-lucking on a new one.

TAPS.
I think I'll join you in the search for the good ones.  I've found a couple recently who have been around for a while.  I'd just never checked on their blogs before.

That is why I try to spend some time each day reading new bloggers and commenting on their posts.   The things of which you speak have always been true here.  One has to search out the really good writers.  Sometimes they do not stay very long.

Thank you, thank you very much!  Actually, since my time is going to be much more limited in coming weeks, I'm thinking of cutting the posting down considerably so that I can maintain, maybe even step up, the reading a little.  I hate losing a promising blogger simply because they don't realize most us makes didn't attract very many readers or make very much the first few days, or even the first month.
