No hurricanes, please.  I've had more than enough experience with them going all the way back to Hazel when I was just a boy.  Now that was one helluva storm.  The eye passed right over us.  Fury of storm, almost total calm, fury of storm -- that was one of the weirdest experiences of my life.

Hi, Tony
I do seem to remember, when I was stationed in France and Germany, that the summer days were milder than I was used to.  And many of the summer evenings were downright chilly.  The first time my friends and I spent the night alongside a river, I nearly froze my ass off.

Maybe we should send Dean your way
If we can't, I'll have to start on my ark.

Hey this is great - I'm starting to appreciate the wet mild summers here!
I feel sorry for people that have to live in extremes of cold and heat. That's what you go on holiday for  - well maybe not cold, unless you like looking at Antarctic penguins or something!

Hi, mariaki
I'm glad to see you back, and I'm happy you stopped by.  Living and working where you do, I suppose you would understand.  I'll be watching for your posts.

I sympathise - this is an all too common problem here!
