will see it before Crocker and Petraeus even hit the ground in the U.S. What I do mind is that they will water it down even further to put their spin on it before Crocker and Petraeus appear before Congress. Fuck that...

You know that, as a Canadian, I don't comment much on US politics, unless it affects us directly, as the issue of illegal immigration does, for example.
But these reports, while they don't affect us directly, nonetheless raise an important issue, namely that of balancing the American people's right to know against the need to present the best possible picture to the adversary (and whether the troops should still be there is another question). Hence I see little wrong with the president (in whom I am generally hugely disappointed) and Condy taking a look at that stuff first...

I have a feeling that we have never had a president and his staff who were completely honest with the American public. But, veracity and credibility have died the death of a rag doll in this administration.
