more people care than those that do not care
and about the rich, famous and powerful, they get the press, but common everyday folks when they die or something bad happens to them, they dont get the press, but that does not say we think their lives were unimportant.  if they touched the heart of one person, or helped one person then they are blessed more than the most rich famous or powerful person that only lived for themselves.

Afzal
I see a lot of concern for tragedy and those effected by it.  I think that rather than a lack of concern, we are so inundated by tragedies that we lose the ability to react, to know how to help.

Hmm

You can back up this poem with my recent post on Venezuela's poverty. It fits perfectly.

This is an overwhelming piece............

if it doesn't bring tears to all, they have become hardened...I don't remember what sparked the conversation or with whom, I just remember saying to someone recently, "Maybe this is hell." I've asked others, "Is it just the age I've become, or the age this world has become?" I know we have more world wide media coverage so every, little detail of sorrow, disaster, crisis and hopelessness is laid before us constantly....but the sorrow seems to be multiplying with every passing year, and people....it seems everyone I speak to is going through several trying, difficult and overwhelming situations; illnesses, deaths, addictions, abuse....Man, I'm making myself depressed!

The Christian churches in US have a national prayer day...I can't remember just the day, but in all my prayers, I've continually felt the need to just keep praying.  Wouldn't it be something if every believer in prayer, just spent every hour they could, every day sending prayer-filled messages to every disaster, crisis or sorrowfilled situaltion they run across, just sending love and prayers for help and protection and comfort everyone's way?  What if all of those prayers, all that love and hope collided in space and could start changing the world, one small thing at a time?  Couldn't we create heaven on earth? It is nice to believe it could...I wonder......blessings dear one.

Civil unrest will always be there when there is one or more than one.

I think it's true, that while some get mass amounts of attention when they are gone, others just seem to disapear into nothingness.

Good morning, my love.

Yes, some don't care, some are unconcerned and apathetic--but many, many more DO care!

I think we do care. The whole world scene now is something totally new in our historical experience. Today there was a massacre in northern Iraq. Four blocks of civilians taken out, their houses blown up. This was not by our soldiers but people of their own country of opposing religious groups. Many care that such behavior can not come to the table for talk or any caring rational. It is to keep them from our front door and hopefully to keep them from the next civilian door in Iraq. We care.
