Hehe, I never engaged in this problem myself, but have heard of it a few times. It is true that they could both be on that thing, had they tried a little harder...
What people often miss, though, is the fact that Jack Dawson was obviously not human, and his purpose on Earth was to free Rose and then lead her to the door. As we all know, people can only show us the door - we have to walk through it ourself.
And this is where Rose's stupidity ruins grand plans of world domination. Instead of walking through, she decided to sleep on the damn thing. Jack's time was borrowed, there was nothing he could do, and fast death was probably prefferable at this point.
I have absolutely no idea what the f*ck I just said...

"Titanic" is an ok movie, KevinDeep, but I still can't beleive the
basic inconsideration of that self-centered bitch not sharing the door (or whatever the hell she was floating on). Some say he was being chivalrous; I say he was being an ass and she was being self-centered. Romantic? What the hell is romantic about stupidity?
