You're absolutely correct on this. That's why I do these little bits about music and songs here and in Journal as they occur and reoccur to me. Sorry I took so long to reply to your comment.

You need to pop into an old record shop to see what a still factory sealed copy of the album might bring. I don't recall that particular title, but in the case of vinyl collectibles, less popular (therefore fewer copies produced and sold) often means more valuable. Back in my flea market days I sold a lot of used albums for several times more than the purchase price of the CD. I always got at least double for any album that was still factory sealed.

I'd like to think the reason we seem to remember sad times and sad songs so much more clearly is because our lives are basically pretty happy and the more pleasant memories, being in the majority, just don't generate as much reaction.

Hi Not - that has happened to me. Often there is just one great song
and the rest isn't as good. Or none of it's any good in one or two cases where I liked the cover or the titles! There is even one vinyl LP I bought in 1990 which I have still never got round to playing! It's 'In the wake of the flood' by the Grateful Dead. D'you know if it's any good?

Isn't it remarkable, or sad, or peculiar how a song can remind us of a specific time in our life - sometimes even the very moment something occurred. Particularly true of sad songs.

OTA.
Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for the links, too. I'm going to try all of them later this morning. I think I've got my laptop under control for the time being, but I don't want to push my luck until I've actually done some reading and commenting this time.
