.Dave.
My notebooks are mostly three ring binders and old composition books.  I jot down a lot and it's easiest and cheapest for me to transfer most of my notes into one of many cheap binders that I keep around just for that purpose.  I also carry a pocket-sized notepad or index cards around with me so that I can jot down notes on the fly.

Thanks, and welcome back.  I liked your point on remembering smaller things.  I have to jot down items to pick up the grocery store and things I need to do or I'd forget them, too.  I can't ever take it for granted that I'll remember anything anymore.

Bruce, I use my notebooks in exactly the same way. After years of drifting in the stationery world, I settle on the Moleskine as my notebook of choice.

I like your point on,...

writing things down to remember.

This is a must!!! Especially if you want to keep your thoughts in order. And this isn't the case only in writing a book or poem, but also when you have even smaller writing tasks.

Keep writing, keep getting inspired

Thank you much.  I remember when I was a writer in the army.  After a while things got so routine I printed up pages of stock notes so that when I was in a rush I could literally cut and paste a quick citation around a name, rank, and job title.  It was my Army Writer's Notebook and shared a treasured space with my CMA file.

Thanks for dropping by, and welcome to Blogit.  I hope you'll enjoy your time here.  I know you enjoyed your time in Italy.  I've always wanted to go back to Europe.  There was so much I didn't get to see, including Italy.  Maybe someday.
