I love your comment at the end of this bit of news. I remember well when my four sons were caught up in the Star Wars mania.
for Dante and his "The Inferno".

"The winners of the Ig Nobel Fluid Dynamics prize—hailing from universities in Finland, Germany, and Hungary—won for calculating the pressure that builds up inside a penguin's bowels before it defecates." Pressure??? Are they planning on bringing out Preparation H for Penguins????

Re: I think teen brains, explorers as they are, learning many true facts
Pat, the main difference, as I see it, is that a plague of locusts descends upon us every seven years, if I remember my Bible correctly, which I may not. Teenagers, on the other hand, are a permanent plague...

Re: No dear Naut I can't agree. I think the brains of the Politicians
Your politicians have
brains? Amazing! Maybe they're getting then from chewing gum leaves! Maybe you should export them - not your politicians, we have enough of those, although they're the brainless type - but your gum leaves...

the hard way and for the first time, are more volatile and less centered than the average locust's. The locust's purpose in life is fairly straightforward: eat, reproduce, die. Whereas (don't you hate it when someone uses 'whereas'?) teens' purposes are too divergent and teen boys at least are too easily distracted by the sight of a thigh or a breast - be it human or fried chicken - beating their previous scores on some X-box game, getting laid, finding pizza, making up plausible excuses, finishing a paper, surfing My Space for a cute sexy girl, creating an avatar, getting out of yard work... it goes on. And with teen girls, there's shopping, styling, the craft of dissing, competing while pretending sisterhood, etc.

It's always good to see people using the little time they have in this world, for such important, scientific experiments!

By the way luv. Gum leaves are very beneficial
You can make a cup of tea with them....you can sniff them to clear the sinus's with a cold or chew the leaves to ease a sore throat. You can make oily perfume. You can probably shew them and clean your teeth too!Just ask any Koala how good they are!
