Thanks - I'll try and get a copy. Meanwhile, I've just read Words in a French Life, by Kristen Espinasse - a gem. She started out by blogging; there's hope for us all:)

Thank you very much for the compliment, Pat.  It's probably narcissistic, but I could wallow in compliments all day.

That's what I'm doing riri.  I keep thinking I'm going to slowly but the instructors seem very pleased with my progress.

Nicely done - the curious cat title tied up in a big red bow...
Strangely, I wasn't chuckling though it was clearly written in fun. When I got to the end I realized I'd been holding my breath.  You're good, Dr. J.... :)

mneme.

Why thank you ma'am.  You had me crossing my legs there for a moment.  I love it when someone laughs at a piece, as that is what it is all about.

A friend gave me a book yesterday called Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich.  It is so funny I am almost wetting myself at parts.  What I don't understand is that the same friend gave me Innocent Blood by P.D. James which is one of the most irritating books I have ever read.  If you want a laugh, read Innocent Blood, mneme.

Whacky & Bo the wonder dog
I suppose I am making progress, Whacky and Bo, if progress means going down the way, that is.  Just think, Bo was born able to swim - not fair!

"Our instructor explained the system and another lifeguard stood ready in case of any complications (NB. ‘Complications’ is spelled ‘Johnmacnab.’)"

That was the first LOL I had today.. there were a number of others... johnmacnab, you are a man after my own heart (sex-change notwithstanding, but you get the idea).

Brilliant piece - thank you.
