We feel sad because we feel like we are "losing" them.
Since when they move to another plane, mostly we can't see them anymore, we feel they are gone.

Also, I think that the moment of someone's death, we suddenly "realize" at the very deepest core of our being -- that we are now, and always, have been ultimatley alone and to ward off that dread chill, we created -- what now are classified as "religions"; sustainable to the preachable, but unfathomable essence of what we term...humanity.
Why do we weep? God can only know. j

In my case, I cry because, though I'm happy for them that they will never have any pain or hurt again and they are with God, I am selfish and I miss them terribly.
