I try to find a more realistic or centrist view of things, gerard, but you
are right.  The far right is very well represented on this site and, like their talk-show counterparts, extremely voluble, pontificant, and intolerant.  That being said, glad to have you with us, my friend...

A welcome voice

I've just joined this site, and reading all the entries I'm stunned by all the rabid voices, or noises, from the right.  Instead of making a point or expressing an opinion, liberal voices are belittled and denigrated.

So glad to find some reason

Thanks

And so, Witch Writer, the number grows. Just don't be too optimistic about
the chances of King George getting what he deserves ever occurring...

Re: I won't give up completely, Glennb. And even if it never happens, at least

I think Bush should up on every charge possible for this senseless war. That man makes me so angry that I am seeing red all the time....

I won't give up completely, Glennb. And even if it never happens, at least
there are people like yourself (and me) who beleive Bush and his cronies should be held accountable legally for his crimes.  And I'll continue to say it and print it as long as I live.

Saul Relative,
I am so proud of you! But let us not give up totally on the "crimes against humanity" charge!

Exactly, Glennb. He'll never be prosecuted because of his political
connections and the corporate interests he represents.  And that's on both the international and the national scenes.  Which is why they've shelved the idea of impeachment, even though there is more than enough evidence to have impeached him a couple of years ago.  America (and, in most cases, most of the world) has given up the moral high ground that built its reputation (whether it was so moral or not is debatable, but the perception of America as being on the moral high ground has been part of its appeal for decades) and caused it to act so quickly with regard to Nixon's cover-up, a bit more sluggish with the Iran-Contra affair.  But the private affair and fellatio of Bill Clinton by an aide was pursued with reckless abandon.  Shows how far we've slipped when a president is nearly run from office for a blow job, but another can wantonly and criminally attack and destroy a sovereign nation, suspend civil liberties and deny Constitutional rights to his own citizens, and not be held accountable to either set of crimes in the United States or in international court.  Ridiculous.

Saul Relative,
The problem: America and the Planet gave him the benefit of doubt. No one thought this man had the courage or qualifications. But the hype machine and the Office he holds made him unstoppable. Now what? You are saying he will never be prosecuted for "crimes against humanity"! You may be right only because he has legions of accomplices.

The Bush administration's assinine entry and occupation of Iraq will go
down in history as possibly the worst foreign-policy blunder in history, right up there with Japan's sneak attack at Pearl Harbor and Montezuma.  That's why you don't let a religious zealot/addictive personality become your head of state.  It never works out well for the country they lead...

Saul Relative,
Looks as if the United States Senate is as ignorant about the right of people to decide their own fate as Bush/Cheney! Has anyone asked these people what "right" does America have to Iraq? Period! All that smoke they blew up our ass has disapated! All is left is Bush's Racist utterance: "the Brown Race Cannot Govern Themselves"! If he had added "the way Whitey wants" the statement would have been valid!
