Perhaps one day the people of whom you speak will come to the realization that you can't buy the kind of thing their hearts crave. For despite what they think, it's not physical wealth they are after, it's the acceptance of who they are. That is the only thing that will satisfy the emptiness in their souls. That's why they have such a hard time looking in on the group you speak of, they so desperately want to be part of that group, but don't have any idea why they can't be. It's a shame for them, because bonds like that are hard to come by in this life, and are to be treasured. I'm glad you've found yourself a place within a group like that, it's true when you say "Blood is thicker than water, but love is thicker than blood." Family need not be blood to be. It simply needs love. And it looks like you've got that in spades.
