There's no question - but our humanity that leads us to commit those ignoble deeds, also leads us to do great and noble things - for example, Gandhi - just don't let yourself be taken over by pessimism/cynicism (well, some cynicism is helathy, but you know what I mean), or you'll never be able to experience the joys and comforts, that your fellow human beings can (and will) provide for you, my friend! 
P.S. - did I spell his name right or does the "h" go before the "a" - my google search showed both spellings?
