My agnostic self ponders, "Maybe it's because there is no God." My devout Roman Catholic mother woud say that you're only looking at the bad things in life - she would talk about people who were given a 1% chance of surviving the cancer they had - 25 years ago! - She would talk about beautiful music (she loves Strauss, among many others), she would talk about inspiration films like, "The Passion of the Christ" -and she would speak of the miracle of birth, babies, and life, itself!
