It is the soul or the non-material aspects of the human person that strives for higher things, loftier truths that the heart and mind: tied as these are to the material, this world, these rewards...including love that needs to be consummated. It just struck me--hard--that the soul is seen as the source of light; the mind and body (heart) harbor revenge, ambition, greed...If I am wrong, I take it all back. salaamfromneil
