Whinge, life can seem sweeter thru some lovely red wine glasses

Transcendental Child - there is more than a grain of truth...my Fridays
are sweeping exposes on how to die young, broke, and often alone...but the girl who keeps rattling my chain rattled it again last night so maybe I'll have a more interesting Friday on the way

It was Saturday night that after a long dry spell, I had some fondly

remembered wine, one I used to have years ago, a one that was the good times in a bad relationship.  I thought now that I'd spotted it in the off license again, how I should have some on it's own merit. Anyhow it was by Brown's Brothers, Australian, not Tarrango, or Barbera, but some other mad name, plummy, dark and woody with some mad Ozzie/Italian hybrid grape (like I even know, but I like reading the labels).  My husband had picked out a Californian, light with a taste of sun.

I watched two movies, and spent Sunday morning trying to re-pressurize my eyeballs so as to resist the force of my throbbing brain, that was almost squeezing them out the emergency exit of both nostrils.  I wasn't naked, though that morning I didn't remember the end of the second movie.  I was however productive, you can't avoid it with a 19 month old.

Don't go out, stay in, give me your money so I can go out???

You really must...

stop having Fridays like this! I have found... staying home is the best therapy for a single person. I am that girl some guy attempts to buy drinks if I go out... I of course do not accept... and you see, that means I do not go home hungover (it only takes a glass of red wine to do me in), or smelling of smoke. I wake up the next day not feeling as though my Saturday has been shot... but feeling good that I like myself enough to stay home with myself.

I know your post was somewhat tongue in cheek (the one above your neck seeing as how you were naked and all : 0 ), except there is always just a grain of truth to the satirical views we portray of our lives.

Yes... I am far too philosophical for 5:00 am. I need to go work out now.

Aw, take heart.  If you want to write a novel, then write one.  Truly, it is as easy as that.  It's one.....word.....at......a......time.  Then a sentence, then a paragraph.  Stop after that.  Even if it takes you ten years, you'll know you tried, you worked and you did it.  It CAN be done.  One word at at time.  My best to you.

Thanks Strat...I beneath all my doubt I believe you. Novels are so last
century anyway The buzz today is creative nonfiction

Been there. Still there. Not the end of the world.
You have a good point -- I became a newspaper guy because comeone was paying me to write. I became a columnist because I was too freakin' tired to write another book.

You have the chops, brother, you just need to find your niche. It'll come together.

HG - you make me blush. I suppose our romance will have to wait until
October

I am home 7 nights a week, and I still don't get enough writing done!  Whether published or not, even a hungover rant from you is better than what most of us will ever write!  Oh, and I am never going to visit you in the summer!  I've got to have the A/C cranking.

With or without the clothes, you should write more poems.  I went back and read that one again.  I still agree with the comment to it that I made at that time.
