HI YP!!
How sweet this is!  I'm working on the angels! I'm having a few "technical problems" and am working on it. <Sigh>

It's cloudy and cool today so I really needed that pretty rainbow. Blessings, dear one.

YP-
I relent. It IS only once in a while. All these children look like roses. there's got to be one to two onions in the batch. I visited your poems but I didn't have a chance to leave jinormous messages. But I will leave a regular sized one. Thanks for stopping by I'm going to write about the rose child today.

Re: An onion of a situation; rose of a moral
YP!!!!!!!!!

You ARE outrageous, you know!!  Here I'm being all serious and talking about onions, and crying, and you flash Miss Universe at me!  (I like her natural breasts however.) I DID post a picture of myself in a pink bikini with my MIA bracelet! (1972) (cough cough) Maybe not Miss World, but good showing what good ol' Kansas hard work (on the farm plus ballet classes) can produce.  And PD doesn't stop me until I draw my last breath, you hear me?!?!   I think, too, that will be a long time from now. I still have so many places to visit yet and new experiences waiting for me just around the bend, so don't count me down and out quite yet. Jay and I are going to be in Boston for the 4th of July this year -- in the crowds by the Charles, listening to the Pops, and feeling the power of fireworks. My mother went into congestive heart failure on the Charles in 2003, just as the fireworks started exploding in the sky above.  She had aortic stenosis and suffered dementia.  She was quite confused as it got dark and she saw children walking by.  She got all worked up about losing her youngest granddaughter in the crowds (who wasn't even there) until she almost left this Earth with a big bang!  The EMTs had been alerted and had an ambulance there in the midst of the crowds.  That was a Fourth to remember!

You see? I've got too many stories to tell to let PD slow me down! I've got to maintain my unofficial blogit title of lady of the long-winded comments !!

Thank you for reading it.  It IS actually based on a family I know and yes, I wrote it.  My life was of a rose child, my little brother, an onion. Same family, 4 years apart.  I was serious as a child, a high-achiever and very competitive; my brother, I know now, suffered from depression. At age 6, the school recommended psychiatric counseling. I know several kids who could fit this story of Johnny Onion.  I should write a story about Rose and her petals. Thanks for the idea!

Wow! That was quite a pictorial story!
and so true and so very sad. You mentioned the rose children too.  I thought about that, no tears beneath just maybe he loves me, he loves me not.....ooops, that's a daisy.  Rose pedals significant of layers of beauty maybe....Good story.  Thank you for sharing.  That would be excellent for a children's book.  Did you write it?
