Straightforward
I've been here quite a long time and I'm finding it stressful to keep up.
Besides now I need to try and earn some money from my writing so that has me sidetracked a bit.
But I still enjoy the company.I do miss the old bloggers that are gone, but enjoy the new Blogit members,and Blogit is rather like life, ' a turn of the wheel' as my dad used to say.
I am so very happy I met you here my friend.

I've been wondering the exact same thing!!!! There are so many who are gone, and I miss them tremendously! I wonder if MySpace has anything to do with it! Or like you said, did Blogit fill its purpose for them? I love this place and I'm so glad many of my favorites are still around.

I think life gets in the way. Also some people write really well, then
dont get read unless they read voraciously. And time is a problem.

Excellent question - I've been here since Oct. of 2006 - I love to write, and now that I've overcome my Social Anxiety Disorder, communicating with so many different people is just a blast!

I first came here in 2004, too.
Had a little fun, got bored, lost focus. To play here requires a certain manic energy. I'm feeling that again due to an uber-full life that is creating a lot of anxiety for me. I work it off by entering this realm of fancies.

Straightforward, all of the comments R correct, & some. I add this:
People also stop writing as enthusiastically because they adjust to what "pays" on Blogit. This is usually CLICKS but other tangibles per our differing personalisities, needs and idiosyncracies. Personally, I try to stay tru to each category...not exploit just one category with all kinds of entries that belong elsewhere. I guess "home and Gardening" could be Mature Audiences and RELIGION categories too! LOL

I pondered this question of yours for a moment. I came to blogit to hone my writing skills. I know there are others reasons for being here; the friendship, commaraderie, to learn of new ideas, to grow. All good reasons. But maybe the ones who came to hone their writing skills and were dedicated to write and learn from their experience, did just that! I know my writing has come a long way. It's so easy to learn from such excellent writers here. Maybe they have moved on and are writing up a storm, for pay elsewhere. Just a thought and a hopeful prayer for those who have moved on. I pray it is of good fortune for them.
