I would love to believe in the notion that parents must be served
and in keeping the commandment "honor thy father and mother", but some parents just don't deserve to be served. Some treat their children way too harshly in life because they're too selfish or burden their children with their demons or excess psychological baggage. These are the ones who, when they are elderly, cry "My children abandoned me". If they were not able to give a child love and nurturing, they cannot expect any in return. Sorry for sounding so cruel.

Very nice sentiments. As to the question in caption, yes, I believe in honoring and serving those we love. And, I do love my parents, oh so dearly.   Melody

Afzal

Hmmm....I think I have "served" enough parents in my life.

Anyway....try telling this bit of wisdom to my children.

Honoring God comes first in the formula of commandments I follow. Honoring our parents so that our days may be longer upon this earth comes close behind. Nice post.
