Great post! But I disagree with you on (at least) one point - and I do not mean this in an insulting way. To me, ignorance is lack of education, i.e., he/she didn't know any better. As I mentioned in a previous post, some very (usually) wise/ intelligent, and definitely educated people, did some very stupid things in the past. Some are doing them now, and some will do them in the future. Here are just two examples of past stupid behavior engaged in by wise/intelligent /educated people:
1) The brilliant German philosopher, Martin Heidegger was temporarily (and voluntarily) involved with the Nazi movement
2) The brilliant French philosopher, Jean-Paul Sartre supported Mao, of Communist China, (the biggest mass murderer in history) for many, many years. Although, to his credit, he finally realized and admitted the serious error he had made.
