As a Roman Catholic, turned agnostic, I do not now despise the religion that I was  brought up in - in other words, I'm not one of those people who wears a t-shirt that reads "Recovering Christian (or Catholic)." And if anyone arrogantly says, "Just because you, believe in God, doesn't mean He exists," I would say, "Just because you don't believe in God, doesn't mean He does not exist!"
