Writing from the heart
and writing about what you know best is what I would suggest. Thinkin about the writng I like - fction and non-ficiton alike - its about what the writer is linked to in a very organic way. My own writing has come into its own over the years when I connect with myself and write, without worrying about technique, the audience, etc. Go for it. Just write!

Wonderful similie to start your piece! What kind of writing would you like to try? There's a load of difference in the answers I can give. THE best books on writing that I've ever read are by Dwight Swain. May he RIP. He was my mentor's teacher in OK. Also, join a local workshop and try your hand with other new writers in the group. It's great to get out there and talk with other writers, you learn a lot. And yes, just Bloggit! --Joy!Mary
