Shades of Rumi
Who was to me just a mere mention in the notes of my copy of the Rubaiyat until I was alerted to a program on public radio earlier.  In his poetry, there is a mixing of the divine and human love, as you have done here, within the Sufi tradition of Islam. Is that your background as well, Afzal?

In the Judeo-Christian scriptures, the prime example of this conjoining of human and divine love in a poem is the "Song of Solomon".
