Religion itself can not be blamed
for how it is manipulated by man.  I would never blame 9/11 on Muslims.  This is like blaming the Spinach for the e.coli bacteria, or the cow for the Mad Cow Disease.  It makes no sense.  These warped interpretations corrupting religions are like disease or mutation.  Hopefully, people will try to correct the problems instead of support them.  I think in most cases, people see that the extremist interpretations are harmful.  Great post

An excellent post.I get tired of people blaming religion for the worlds ills. There are as many sick fanatics that follow no religion as there are religious fanatics.

I hope everyone comes home safe but we all know that someone's father, son, brother, daughter, mother, aunt will die over there. It is sad because it is a losing battle their will always be someone to hate and be willing to die for the so called "religious killings" murdering thousands of people along the way. And that is exactly what it is MURDER. Good Post.

Afzal
An excellent post. Also a good comment by Klapper. The Catholic Church and or any denomination is not representative of Christianity in it's totality. The Word of the Holy Bible is all that is true of the Christian faith. I can't discuss Islam with you because I do not know enough. I do think your concepts about not only any religion but anybody including atheists who are fanatical are missing the point. Rigidity and war in the name of a religion is not of God. I do believe I know when in signs but not in day the wars will end and solid peace will be the norm.

Great post
I liked especially your analysis of how political agendae corrupt religion.  In Christianity, the attempts of the Church of Rome at political domination brought about two of the biggest corruptions of Christianity by Roman Catholicism: the "filioque" added to the Nicene Creed to justify the Great Schism, thus a divide and conquer strategy where the Western sphere of influence of Rome could be cemented without interference by Constantinople, and the notion of "Original Sin" which made infant baptisms "necessary" and gave the Church of Rome great economic and political power.
