I'm slow catching up. This sonnet was worthy of our past poets - lovely thoughts about both mother nature and our natural mothers. Progress is painful, but inevitable.. I've been looking at the music of the spheres, just out of interest; that came from Ariala's blog about Schumann Resonance. I thought it would have some 'resonance' with medieval and renaissance theories of cosmology, and guess what..it does (from Pythagoras - who didn't only do maths). I love my work.

What a wonderful description of "leaving the nest" yet (at least for me) a mother's voice somehow echos in the distance - never lost.

Tony - Great way of reminding us how nature can be rough on the mother
once those bonds have weakened.. and we become "independent". Great analogy and insight.

Hi - thanks for your comments, everyone!
Interesting to see your reactions to this one! It was mainly inspired by thinking about my mother, who wasn't feeling very well last week. Oh well, here we are, another Monday!

Birthing is a transformation. We rarely stop by to appreciate this continuous creative process in which play a major part. The major part being, we are the only audience and the rest of the universe are the actors. What a show!!!

Lovely sonnet my friend, and I just filled my feeders today. It's still quite cold, but they are flitting about.

Superb, Tony. This one is a sonnet sublime to Nature, the mother.
She births us, nourishes and nurtures us, and then our flights...when it takes us far from the earth, She bids us from afar, "be your best", we are too absorbed elsewhere, to hear or thank her, for her benovelent wish to the early bird catching the worm
