- Go to the electrifying depression of dogs in the 60s
That's very interesting
I can apply that to my life. I was conditioned to wallow in self-pity, and that's what I did for years, no matter how petty the reasons were. I don't remember what happened to change me, but now I grab on and open up the escape hatch any time any of those feelings come back - even if I have a completely valid reason to be down.

But the POOR DOGS.. what if I said they were evil biting demented dogs that caused pain to many people and the electric shock was quite mild.

Masters of our own designs - yes I think that's the point Wiley.. we in fact are able to carry out ongoing designs in our minds, perspectives, motivational and interpretative structures

My first thought was poor little dogs! I hate to see them used for experiments like that. But, I totally agree with the rest of your post. It is amazing what can be learned, changed, improved, with the human body and mind.

Interesting thoughts there, deep, but I do think we are kind of masters of our own design at times.

Very true
Language is so powerful, just as our thoughts. If we could stop the tapes that play in our head, and chnagetheir direction, we could do the same with words. And, these are very deliberate actions. I have tried this and it works!
