Proc says
The bible is a great book of contradictions. In the rich man and Lazarus story the rich man is punished because he doesnt share with Laz.The bible also says blessed are the poor. But the it goes on to say ask and it shall be given unto you. Some christians believe if you ask for riches it is your right to have them.Go figure.

In response to a comment made below not all US Republicans are rich. However as a party they tend to be very generous. God doesn't too much care if you are a Republican or democrate. He just cares about how we treat others. There is always a way to help our fellow man.

God's word says "I created all things, good and bad." Those abiding in him and he in them will never be hungry or poor. Poverty is a choice. Those making it are not aware of it. I don't want to go into this more for fear of disagreement or that I may offend someone. A thoughtful post.

I think God has given me expired coupons, they're all for Pampers.

It's funny that you and I were thinking about the same question this

morning.  I was wondering why the U.S. Republicans keep forgetting that Jesus said something like, If you have two shirts, you should give one to someone who has none.  And then that saying about how it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.

Our paster explained that the eye of the needle was what they called one of the gates to Jeruselum where a laden camel had to kneel down -- the owner taking all its burdens off its back -- in order for the camel to get through that entrance.

I think that maybe God made everything, and since God sent us out of the Garden, we pretty much have to fend for ourselves.  I think that believing God is controlling everything is just a cop-out for not taking responsibility for own lives and for what we do.  The law doesn't allow us that luxury, either.

And Then There Was "Better Business"
Afzal, I believe that I am on a mission. The mission is to provide all of amnkind with financial information that can be understood and implimented. By everyon having access to the same information, it becomes possible to make financial decisions that will benefit all of mankind. I am driven by some force that won't let me rest. I couldn't quit if I wanted. I prefer to think that this is my divine calling.

God created wealth and wisdom, man under influence created
poverty and folly.

God really doesn't care about one's financial situation. He is only concerned that everyone is treated humanely and has their needs met.
