Tony - Yes they may have been quick on the draw..but nothings beats

the USA's Shock & Awe ! At least their fight was fair..unlike the one of Bush & Blair !

Hope the humor is appreciated..haha. thanks for a well written sonnet.

I really liked this - how fascinating. I can't seem to get back any further than 1864 without a trip to Ireland to do the research. It's good, too, the way you can bridge past and present like this.

And I'm reading your poem over post-breakfast coffee.

A very round-headed poem, this one, Tony. Glad you didn't get cavalier about it.

Have a great day at work. Sun is breaking through this side of the Pennines.

Tony
Good time travel in verse; probably a special software on your laptop.

Tony, very quick on the draw, eh? Great variety! Good subject in relevance.
