I think that all the facts cannot be known so quickly. We had a case in

the US where police "found" the killer to be the husband.  It was decades later that DNA evidence finally proved he was not the killer, long after the husband was tried, convicted, and had died.

It is good that you open up the discussion as to motive because that is a good question to ask whenever a murder case is on the docket.

It strikes me as perhaps he loved her. He knew that the fantasies of being with her could not be realized, so he had to kill her to realize them. The dinner might have been an acting out of his fantasy to be with her as a paramour.

Good morning, Afzal!  I can never fathom why anyone would commit murder.  Based on the information you've provided it sounds as though this particular murder was premeditated.  That disturbs me even further!  You will have to keep us posted!
