Thank you robdon67
for the encouragement. I too think it will make a good end product, and as friend says, different from the books that on the shelves in book stores about Afghtan -mostly war.

I'd love to see the combination of your photos and your words. I'm intrigued at what your photos would look like - if they're similar to your written focus then I'm imagining close up shots drinking in the details of what might be found in markets, the faces of people in the streets, contemplative views of a richly textured world. There is something very satisfying about compiling blog entries into a book (I did it). There's something magical about the physicality of a book, it's feel and even its smell. Keep visiting the anticipated outcome.

Thanks Passionflower,
great feedback. Good luck with your book on Hurricane Katrina. But, if i were you (whihc I am not!), don't be afraid to go back. Being upset is good. Writing from the gut is not so bad. If it's balanced with the head, that is.

Yes, I think that would make a wonderful story...
I'm trying to do exactly the same thing with my book about the Katrina disaster...I've got folders full of clippings and notes, etc. I stalled out at Chapter 8 - I just couldn't go on.
Going back to that place and time was too unsettling.
