You may be able to recover a few of your photos from Blogit posts.
Those were saved online. I can empathize with your loss. I had a computer blow a gasket just as I was doing my final edit before printing out "the novel." Lost every bit and byte. Had to reconstruct from the original notes. I have no idea whether the new version is better than the original. Hope you can get some of your stuff back. :)

My laptop is in the shop as we speak.  It crashed over a day ago and it just seems awfully coincidental that yours crashed crash as well.  Passion asked me if I thought I had picked up a virus in here (Blogit) and naturally I didn't have an answer for that.  Wouldn't that be a drag.  So sorry you lost everything .  I takes but a moment to "back up" and God only knows why we don't just make it a part of our weekly routine.  I'm still waiting with crossed fingers to find out if any of my files can be saved.  You're allowed some tears over this one......

I'm sorry you lost his beautiful pictures.  I have lost some in the past but I guess that I haven't learned my lesson, because I have so many on my computer right now that I need to back up.  I hope they stay OK until I get back home and that once I'm home I don't forget to do that.

This is the precise reason why I have a Mac, I consider them way more
reliable.  I am sorry you lost some treasures.

Justi, we know the feeling. I am so sorry for your loss, it is just

a horrible feeling.  I wanted to mention what I see Mr T mentioned below.  It is still a very sad thing for me to overcome and I don't know what I am going to tell Meggie when she is all grown up and asking for her photos.  I just know how it will go- she will say:  "Why does Aidan have all his birth/hospital photo's and you don't have any of me?".  My heart will just break.

We can relate
We lost all of Megan's birth photos due to the computer crashing.

Oh no!
The same thing almost happened to me, except my computer gave me a little bit of a warning when it started making funny noises, so I had the chance to save almost everything on CD-Rs.  I'm so sorry that you lost all of those things...

It is really hard to get over things which are lost due to little mistakes.
