Hi Tony
Well-meant jobs, continually harped, is sure to bring well-meant results, ultimately.

So you did.. I was having one of those moments where, by the time I get to the end, I've forgotten the beginning - and the closing words on bio-fuel distracted me. Sorry...!

I don't get it

What I don't get is how Bush is able to get these people to brutially murder people in thier own religion for the sake of some religious mandate denying them life due to not being born in the right bloodline?

How did Bush get Saddam to oppress his country in such a bruital manner as to murder, rape and imprison any who were at all in voice against Saddam?

How did Bush get the leaders to deny UN inspectors access to the suspected WMD factories for a full year and a half?

Wow!  He's sure powerful, our president.  And all for the sake of oil.

My son and his battalion thank you for poetically clearing this up.  And the family of the dead lieutenant that he drug out of his vehicle just before he came home to visi... and the driver who lost his legs... I'll let him know who's behind all this that he's fighting for.  And the family of the murdered allies in Iraq that told my son who had attacked them the night before.. oh. wait... every member was killed and strung on a wire as a sign of what happens to resisters...  oh well.  I guess we just ougta pull out so that they can finish their ethnic cleansing.  Don't wanna interrupt that, especially if there's oil involved somewhere.

Passionflower - it certainly is.
Has anyone else ever even thought of writing a sonnet about alternative energy and its taxation? Hopefully not!

Shadow - thanks - it's tricky but that's the beauty of poetry.

It's kind of an odd subject to write a sonnet on...

Tony - Appreciate you keeping us abreast of global issues etc..
You have that knack of painting a good picture with your sonnets.

I thought for a minute you meant George W and the State of the Union address.
- good work.

Hi Fourcats - yes, we have a few turbines just off the coast.
I don't think they've quite succeeded in being a viable power source for the whole country, though. Wave power is another alternative.

Wiley - Here, it's climate change we're worried about.
The US govt only seems to care about getting on over on the pesky Arabs.

b.c. is currently putting up $6 billion to build a wind farm and they're
also looking at building oceanic turbines which i believe britain has as well?  these are ideas that may not work but i'm grateful they're actually attempting something as opposed to forever blah blah blahing.

There is quite a newspaper article tonight about America turning to Ethanol etc, 'Starve the children to feed the cars" kind of thing.

Everything about turning away from oil has to be carefully thought out and in my book corn fuels are not the answer at all.Great blog my friend.

Thanks Troosha.
It just occurred to me as I was wondering what to write about and the news came on that there was an impending speech about these issues, that I'd never really said what my job was!!

Tony
It’s great that you work in an environment that allows you to participate in “change” or at the very least put heads together and try and come up with solutions. Some of us are so far removed that apathy seeps in and that’s a dangerous disease if it spreads. Hard hitting words today, Tony.
