Nice
Your post brings back good memories of my time in India. I too, had clothes tailor made. When I first went to the clothing stores I could find nothing to fit me as I'm not as petite as I used to be. I actually hesitated at having clothes made. I can't even remember why I decided to do it I think having my luggage lost had a lot to do with it. Even though I'm American it felt strange to have this male take my measurements-even though he did it over my clothes & with my husband standing at my side. I've often thought of trying to have clothes tailor made in the US as I'm on the short side so nothing I choose from the stores is going to look as intended. Anyway, nice blog.

Good memories of clothes made. Thanks for sharing. Yes, progress is good, but it has a downside too, as we all know. But, I am determined to keep seeking for hand made clothes till I can. Cheers.

I have a friend
who often travels the world and takes advantage of the tailoring. While in Singapore recently, she got a pair of tailor made jeans for $30... far cheaper than you can buy most jeans off the rack here in the US. She says they fit like a dream. I'm so sorry that the march of "progress" is beginning to deprive you of that small luxury.

There is nothing like tailored clothes
I was spoilt by a grandmother who knew how to cut clothes patterns from her mind - a gift. I lived in Hong Kong for a while and used to have clothes made there - a gorgeous red Chinese silk evening dress I recall with fondness
