I think it is a lifetime struggle toward sincerity and away from hypocrisy. If we let down our guard, thinking we have it licked, that's when we stub our toe and often fall flat on our face.

Good post.
I find that when it comes to organized religion, hypocrisy can become very grand. You are taking so many different aspects from one belief system that even in itself sometimes contradicts itself. Then there are different levels of beliefs, where some may still believe in some of what is in their holy book(s) while they feel that other beliefs are outdated. So it gets very complicated and confusing.
I think it's best if we all just try to live by the rules of live and let live, try not to judge others, as we don't always know their beliefs or circumstances, and try to be the most sincere and loving that we can be.

Your post left me thinking this: We are ALL imperfect. Within sincerity there exists the essence of hypocricy, because REGARDLESS of personal beliefs there lives within every mind the "what if factor". A person may stand firm in his or her beliefs today, but experience another perspective tomorrow, and thus change his or her original beliefts.
