Phew..! I feel like I am on holiday too. It's something I wonder too, whether animals know we are watching them - do you sometimes feel an affinity with pets..? I know I do. We are all God's creatures, and I would so love to see a whale one day. Enjoy your trip..!

Don't talk to me about thrills, i am overwhelmed--- whales or no whales, i had a whale of a time. Now, i feel as flat as a pancake on a rock,,, a pun, it is an actual place. I will take a walk around town, see what mischief I can get into, and then run away, ha ha.

Great piece, MC, capturing the aspects of the whale watching trip,
encompassing the whales and the humans' oddities of behaviour. Very strong ending, too, I thought. It is just a thrill, isn't it? Then we move on like locusts to the next crop... But perhaps we shouldn't feel too guilty - after all, we're just behaving naturally, the way we are made.

I have one of those boxes filled with memories of experiences of which you speak. And yes, buried somewhere in the hoard is one of whales leaping as I watched from the cliffs of Ecola in Oregon. Good writing.
