MandaLee, one of our residents at the group home just found out he has
emphysema, as a result of smoking when he was younger.  He will be on a ventilator as needed for the rest of his life....

Manda - really sad, but at least there's lots of love in your family

MandaLee,

My heart breaks for you and your family.  My father now has this same disease, brought on by the very same disease.

Love and prayers sent up by you all.

MandaLee, I have been there. I had a member of my church who
felt so guilty about smoking that when one day as I visited him, I caught him smoking outside, and he was so embarrassed that he put the lighted cigarette in his pants pocket -- I quickly excused myself, and went in to talk to his wife and he soon followed.   I never said anything to him, and he never said anything to me.
