Yes, I do this a lot. It is quite frustrating.

I've been lazy about putting my wolf stuff up in my new house
Maybe I'll do it this year.

yes that happens to me all the time, particularly when I'm indisposed
and not able to jot down the idea. Then again, I've gotten up from bed to write down that "great idea for a blog" only to find that in the morning, it doesn't seem all that great. LOL.
P.S. Saw your comment about collecting wolf stuff--me too, anything and everything!!

Symphony, have you tried keeping a notebook by the bed?
I get back up to write important things down but I know a lot of people don't like to do that but a lot of people keep pen and paper by the bed.

Presley, it's always easier to think without that kind of distraction

I know exacly what you mean!!!
it is so frustrating.....because I am on the go all day long and never have a moment to myself....I often go to bed full of thoughts for blogging matherial. nine times out of ten, I cant be bothered to get out of bed to write anything down...and repeat over and over again to myself that I will remember tomorrow when I get up......but, I never remember, I too. wish I could forget I had the idea in the first place.
I try to write down the thoughts as soon as I get them now....
it be better if I had more time to myself in the day for those to come.

I've had many brilliant ideas in regard to blogging material. I log on to blog and then get distracted. Once my home office is complete (redecorating) I plan to be more productive and organized with my thoughts!

Whew!
I can't spell or make sense when I get tired. It must be about time to call it a day.

IAll the time
...even though I'm an inveterate note-taker. Sometimes I can't make notes fast enough. I've also done the multiple-post thing although I almost invariably change them when it comes time to use my canned posts. I still wing it a lot, too.

Talion, I've considered doing something similar
but I almost always find myself wingin' it.

I've composed entire posts in my head only to have the information disappear before I could get to my computer. I don't really take notes, but I write multiple postings simultaneously, saving them for later.

An idea from a former Blogit member...
Someone here in the comments section suggested something similar to that suggested by former member Hugh_Manatee (you can't even find his Member Profile on Blogit anymore). Keep a notebook or something similar handy, if your security job lets you (I've known security guards in the past, and sometimes their supervisors ban them from keeping notebooks and watching TV, so they're not distracted from watching for bad guys on the job). Jot ideas down in that notebook, as time and job duties permit. Then, you'll have the ideas handy when it comes time for you to blog.

My ideas escape also......
I think they go down the rabbit hole for someone else to resurrect.

All the time
I constantly think of something good then the next day can't remember it for the life of me. I was thinking I should keep a notebook around to jot the ideas down, but... nah... that makes it feel too much like work.
