I have to share with you a discovery I just made. I know it's more than a day late and a dollar short, but ... Rainier Marie Rilke. I've no idea why I didn't spend hours reading and studying this fabulous poet in college -- but I'm so glad to have found him now.
One of his poems made me think of you: "Spanish Dancer." I posted it a few minutes ago under my fiction blog -- Blackmare Stories. Here's hoping you get a minute between parties to take a look. But life, first. Blogit a distant second. :)pat

Thank you! I'm posting a sequel, and New Year good wishes later on.
Out with friends tonight, got two more parties of about 20 Spanish/British friends in the next couple of weeks, then Phew! we can settle back into our customary state of slothful indolence.
I haven't forgotten that lengthy comment on your magnificent posts, which I found most impressive. Should be required reading for everybody! Especially politicians, who are in a state of denial ; and taking us with them.
