A great post my friend. I kind of agree with what Saul Relative commented, they have to compliment each other. For me religion is kind of a back up to the spiritual, but it shouldn't be so dogmatic.

Although technology is commonly villified by religion (generally), we find
that religion often accommodates new technologies (however evil they may be) to promote those same religions through outreach or by force. Religions in general have thwarted technological advancement throughout the centuries, yet the curiousity and ingenuity of man and his ability to generate ideas has never been stymied. Technology and man can coexist without religion and vice-versa. However, man (well, most humans) has a psychological need for religion as well as an inherent need to improve his position on the planet and in the universe, so the two, despite each other, have to accommodate each other.
