I agree with you, Manda . . , but, you know . . ,
no matter how bad it gets, those who understand Christmas is the celebration of the Birth of Christ can never be celebrating it in their own hearts (which is actually the most important part of Christmas).

sorry again! my computer is going insane and posting the comments when I'm in the middle of typing (or I'm typing too fast.
anyway, what I was trying to say is that Ben Stein wrote this great letter about this very subject. It's worth reading. You can google him and find it or look in MSNBC. I might still have the email saved, but it is very thought provoking.

I guess as long as we would not be offended
if someone wished us a happy Kwanzaa or a Happy Ramadan it is great. The fact that we as a nation celebrate Christmas should in no way make a person feel left out. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration and if they choose not to, well, it is their loss. Regarless of religious affiliation, or dismissal of, Christmas has become "pagan" to most of the U.S. (don't believe me, go to Wal-Mart tonight and then try to remember that Jesus was involved in the earliest Holiday.)

I don't know what causes this problem with people. Though I am not Christian, I believe in the teachings of Christ, and I have no problem with the words "Merry Christmas".
I guess, maybe some individuals feel "left out" so to speak. In certain instances, I know some are not allowed to show or have public services for their own beliefs, so I think this creates turmoil.
Anyway....MERRY CHRISTMAS!
BTW....I will reply to your email when I can. I haven't forgotten about you, I just haven't been feeling so well lately. There is a lot I want to tell you when I reply. Take Care!
