Bhaskar ,
The city has turned too cram jam even after so many flyovers constructed in the city to reduce heavy traffic at peak hours but I think it's all the same . May be the cities of India are getting over populated .

Is it? Even after the Ring Road they have made? Jaiput too is too crowded,
but not as much as Kolkata's wild traffic. The Howrah railway stairway always looks like a human waterfall. Never empty.

Hi Afzal
I was in Kolkata in June. My wife went shopping with my two sisters, but the oppressive heat and the overbearing traffic made me stay back home reading and watching TV.

Sunny,
You are right and I might as well thought that Kolkata is the worst and slowest moving city of the world .Thanks.

Wow. I can't imagine going through all of that to get somewhere. Sometimes we have things here that create delays, but yours seem extensive.

We do have traffic jams and the odd expression of discontent
whic sometimes turn violent (in the Cape Province of South Africa), but as I read your post I think at this time things are far more intense where you are. Thank you for sharing.
