One of the worst hangovers I ever had started with a bottle of wine. I think the Cognac with cola chasers and German beer might have also had a little to do with it. I miss the wine and the German beer, but not the hangovers.

I do drink a beer or two with my son every once in a while. Now it appears I would have been better off if I'd quit smoking and kept drinking.

I like
one glass of merlot each evening, sometimes that turns into 2 or 3.. but I pay for it in the morning.

No, but I used to drink like a Frenchman. I was stationed in Orleans for a while when I was in the service. They had great table wine for a few francs (about 20 cents per franc then). It was the same stuff I'd been paying several dollars a half bottle for stateside.

I just heard the same thing. But I'm so skinny and drink so little these days I'd probably stay thoroughly looped on four drinks a day. I can argue with anyone who chooses not to drink. In my day I considered it the lesser of two evils, one of which I was bound and determined to try. So I became a booze hound and have never had a joint or any other drug (not prescribed for me) to this day.

Such is the paradoxical nature of this world we live in...BTW I heard
that an average man can consume 4 drinks a day, whilst women because of the way they metabolize alcohol are limited to 2 drinks for a healthy lifestyle. Me, I haven't started drinking myself yet...I think I'll reserve if for the SECOND half of my crazy life...maybe it won't be so crazy then?
