Timmy, you speak the truth.
Especially about coming together and charity at this time of year.
A few days ago, I was having a discussion with two of my friends who dedicate 5 days a week to the Salvation Army during this time of year. Their stories of what the volunteers do at the warehouse was amazing. . , and actually the most Christmasy story I've heard of the season so far.

I've always had the same questions for both entities.
Despite all that, I still love Christmas.

This is a beautiful post, Timmy. I was never confused regarding Santa and
Jesus at Christmas. I was taught that Jesus is real, and that Santa was make-believe, but made to seem real through love. Santa Claus was sort of like a parable in which the giving of gifts was an exprssion of love. In my family, we knew that Jesus is the "Reason for the Season".

Although, I think rampant commercialism/consumerism has drained the holiday of some of its spirit.
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, 'till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.
Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"

When I was a kid I was really confused
About Santa and Jesus. I thought they were the same person, or maybe related.

Well, actually, the Santa concept is derived of a generous Saint, so if a Saint is bringing you presents, I'm sure God takes the credit anyway.

What feeling is that? The anti-commercialism feeling? If so, I've got it!
